2025 SGLD Symposium: Extreme! Designing Sustainably for a Changing Climate

Taking place in Sheffield this autumn, the 2025 Society of Garden and Landscape Designers Symposium (SGLD) explores how designers can create beautiful, resilient spaces in the face of climate change.

Chaired by Errol Reuben Fernandes, the 2025 SGLD Symposium, entitled ‘Extreme! Designing Sustainably for a Changing Climate‘ will focus on how designers respond to climate change and help to mitigate its adverse effects – while also focusing on the use of sustainable processes and materials.

The symposium will be chaired by Errol Reuben Fernandes, and will feature speakers such as Professor Nigel Dunnett, Tom Massey MSGLD, Alys Fowler, Loretta Bosence, Graham Dillamore, Haruko Seki, Jihae Kwang, John Little, Andrew Fisher Tomlin FSGLD and Will Tomson.

Taking place at Sheffield City Hall on the 17 – 18th of October, the symposium will feature presentations, panel discussions, (optional) guided tours of Sheffield’s pioneering urban regeneration projects and ample networking opportunities.
