On the 8-9th of June, an impressive 116 gardens will be opening their gates for the London Open Gardens weekend. The event, now in their 25th year, provides access to secret squares and gardens for all, raises vital funds to help protect the ‘green lungs’ of London – the London Park & Gardens.
London Open Gardens began with volunteers’ passion to open iconic but locked London Squares. Since then, the event has embraced a variety of gardens across central London – from the exquisite roof spaces of city banks to historic institutions, community allotments and even the Prime Minister’s own Downing St Garden in previous years.
Participating gardens for 2024 include a range from the historic and traditional to the new and experimental, and include private gardens, roof gardens, community allotments, gardens belonging to historic buildings, institutions, cafes, schools and shops.
