Pritchard’s book is an exploration of an increasingly blurred boundary between the garden and the home, set at his cottage in Somerset. The book travels through the year offering advice and personal insights on what to grow when, and how, at all times, there is something thrilling that the garden can offer the inside space.
From the cheery joy of early spring daffodils to the velvety richness of late-summer dahlias, the deep glow of golden autumn leaves to the optimism of late-winter catkins, Sean explains how to grow, harvest, and arrange an abundance of nature’s treasure – no matter the size of your plot or your level of horticultural experience.
‘I devoured this sumptuously British step-by-gorgeous-step guide to when to seed, plant and pluck in a single sitting.’ – Richard E. Grant
Based in London and Somerset, Sean Pritchard is an award-winning garden designer, working on projects across the UK and focusses on creating outdoor spaces that inspire and elevate the lives of those who use them. He founded the studio in 2019 after graduating from the Garden Design School in Bristol. A fascination with plants and the role they play in transforming a space is at the heart of the studio’s designs, alongside movement, discovery and a sense of the unexpected. The studio has designed two show gardens including the Macmillan Cancer Support show garden at RHS Hampton Court in 2022.
Outside In: A Year of Growing & Displaying (Mitchell Beazley) will be released on the 11th of April, 2024.
