Launched in 1982, The Cottage Garden Society (CGS) is an informal and friendly society of about 3,000 members who meet throughout the UK for talks, workshops, garden visits and plant sales.

Chair of the CGS, Sue Clarke, said: “We are really looking forward to attending RHS The Malvern Spring Show after an absence of four years. This show is one of the first of the year and really inspires people to get ‘growing’.”

According to the CGS, volunteer members from the local CGS Cotswold Group and friends are working hard behind the scenes to build a display that will appeal to everyone from children and beginner gardeners to the most experienced one.

Located in the Floral marquee, the CGS display entitled ‘Grow it in Pots’ aims to inspire everyone to see how easy it is to grow plants from seeds and create a colourful and eco-friendly display of blooms, fruits, vegetables and herbs.

Regarding the society, Clarke adds: “If you enjoy meeting like-minded people, visiting gardens, enjoying talks from experts, collecting and growing from seeds, taking photographs and reading a quarterly magazine filled with hints and tips from both ordinary gardeners and experts then joining The Cottage Garden Society will give you all these things and more.”

Taking place on the 9th-12 of May, the RHS Malvern Spring Festival provides visitors with a variety of show gardens, gardening know-how in the talks theatres, access to specialist nurseries and growers, artisan food producers, live entertainment and the promise of the very best of lifestyle, garden and homeware shopping.
