Bramshott Open Gardens was first organised in 1987, to raise funds for repairs to the roof of historic St Mary’s Church. As the event proved so popular, the residents agreed unanimously that the Open Gardens should feature as a regular biannual fundraising event – held since every two years, with one single exception.
For their last open gardens event, the residents welcomed 1,530 visitors to the village, raising £25,000 for local good causes and charities. All the funds raises are donated to vital beneficiaries such as Macmillan Cancer Care, St. Mary’s Church in Bramshott, Bramshott Education Trust and local cancer charity, the Rosemary Foundation.
The 2024 Bramshott Open Gardens offer visitors the opportunity to view 26 private gardens, ranging from large gardens with beautiful vistas, to courtyard gardens, kitchen gardens and delightful ponds. If that wasn’t enough, the Danish-British writer, comedian and broadcaster, Sandi Toksvig will be opening the Bramshott Open Gardens (11am on June 15th). A role that previously bestowed on (amongst others), chef and TV personality Antonio Carluccio, author Bill Bryson and actor Hugh Bonneville.
The Bramshott Open Garden event takes place 15th- 16th of June. Tickets are to be purchased in advance.
