The nurseries that make up the Plant Fairs Roadshow (PFR) are all independent micro-nurseries who grow and nurture their specialist plants in the UK. From a huge range of hot peppers nurtured by Clare‘s Chilies in Sussex, to drought-tolerant plants grown by Daisy Roots in Hertfordshire, to a Kent Wildflower Seed producer, and a specialist in jungle and tropical plants collated by Plantbase in Wadhurst.
At the recent RHS Chelsea Flower Show, the PFR commandeered a large corner of the Floral Marquee this year where under the guidance of celebrated nursery woman Derry Watkins of Special Plants, they created beautiful, award winning exhibits, featuring all the respective micro-nurseries.
Paul Seaborne, Event Coordinator of the PFR said: “Key to the success of the Plant Fairs Roadshow is the specialist expertise of the differing nurseries involved, that lends a sense of horticultural heritage to the events whether they’re at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show or at Leonardslee or Bennington Lordship Gardens. We are indebted to the incredible venues that allow us to come and display our life’s work in their fantastic gardens and castles – it’s an honour to be invited to exhibit.”
