Hosted by garden designer and plantsman, Paul Hervey-Brookes, Gardens of the World delves into the art and science of gardening, revealing the profound connection between nature, culture, and community.

Beautifully shot, the new series that takes viewers on a journey through some of the most breathtaking and culturally significant gardens around the globe, with the host delving deep into the artistry, history, and ecological importance of gardens. Showcasing grand historical estates to intimate hidden sanctuaries and rare plants, the series highlights how gardens serve as a bridge between nature, culture, and community, revealing their role in shaping human experiences throughout history.

‘Gardens of the World’ aims to provide gardening inspiration and foster appreciation for the stories behind the respective gardens and landscapes, offering a captivating look at the world’s green treasures.

The host, Paul Hervey-Brookes is a gardener, plantsman and gardener based in France and the UK. Spurred on by his childhood passion for plants, Hervey-Brookes pursued formal horticulture education at Pershore College in 1997, whilst working at Cotswold Garden Flowers, where he honed his skills in propagation and nurtured a love for rare plants through travels across the country. Following his studies, he embarked on transformative projects in Italy, restoring Renaissance gardens, and in France, working for Baron de Rothschild. Returning to the UK, he designed gardens for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court and a diverse spectrum of private gardens from courtyards to grand estates and public spaces. An RHS judge, Hervey-Brookes has worked on collaborations with brands such as Marks & Spencer and Bradstone, as well writing content for publications such as Cruise International and The Telegraph.

The series consists of six episodes, available on Viking.TV and the first episode will be shown on the 23rd of September 2024, with the host exploring Dublin’s verdant landscapes. Launched in March 2020, Viking.TV provides free, daily livestreams and on-demand programming covering topics such as science, art, literature, music and travel.
