Jinny Blom Studio: Landscape Architect

Landscape designer Jinny Blom is recruiting for a Landscape Architect or seasoned garden designer to join her practice based in Clerkenwell, London.

Typically, Jinny Blom Studio projects are complex and large scale involving master planning, ecology, and land use matters, detailed historic research and customised approach to land restoration and management. The successful candidate will be working on projects around the UK, Europe and abroad.

The candidate will have a degree/MA in, and/or three years proven experience in Landscape Architecture or Garden Design. A strong interest and proven skills in landscape design and project management of landscape projects is key. You will be proficienct in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite & Microsoft Office and have excellent design and technical skills. You will have the ability to develop, draw and communicate design ideas from early concepts through to technical stages. The candidate will be able to lead complex projects and work seamlessly within larger teams. Solid practice experience is essential. You will share the ethos of the studio to produce beautiful, thoughtful work for discerning clients. You will have excellent communication and management skills. Excellent spoken and written English is essential, as is the ability to work under pressure. You will be able to develop, set and run budgets. You are proactive and motivated all-rounder with a positive attitude. The candidate will provide solid professional support to the Director.

Blom set the studio up in 2000 and has since been delivering impressive commissions in the UK and abroad. She has designed five Chelsea Flower Show Gardens; in 2002 for HRH the Prince of Wales. For Laurent-Perrier in 2006 and 2007, won Gold. She returned in 2013 with Prince Harry’s first excursion into the show in the Centenary year of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. An actor, Blom is the author of two respected books; The ‘Thoughtful Gardener‘ and her latest, ‘What Makes A Garden‘ (Frances Lincoln) – a memoir, design manual and reflection on landscape and garden design.
