Officially opened by David Domoney, the renewed Gosforth Garden Centre features plants, sundries, garden accessories, homeware, gifts and furniture ranges. Fully accessible for wheelchair users and dog friendly, the centre also includes a restaurant, called the Gardener’s Retreat.

“We’re so excited to be part of the Gosforth community. We’ve worked hard to bring life and enjoyment to the site so that it’s not just a garden centre but a destination for local people.”

The family owned, British Garden Centres (BGC) has a portfolio of 72 centres around the country. The group is owned and led by The Stubbs family, who also own and operate Woodthorpe Leisure Park in Lincolnshire. BGC was launched in 1987 with the opening of Woodthorpe Garden Centre by brothers Charles and Robert Stubbs. BCG employs around 3000 employees across their operations.

In order, the planning for the opening of the next BGC acquired Dobbies garden centres is as follows; Shinfield (1st and 2nd March), Gloucester (8th and 9th March), Heighley Gate (8th and 9th March), Rugby (15th March), Havant (16th March) and Northampton (TBC)
