The Northampton Garden Centre in Wootton has reopened under new ownership by the British Garden Centre Group (BGC), after its acquisition in February this year. The newly revamped store offers a range of plants, gardening supplies, garden accessories, homewares, gifts and collection of outdoor furniture.
The BGC, a family-run firm with 72 sites in the UK, is owned and led by The Stubbs family, who also own and operate Woodthorpe Leisure Park in Lincolnshire. BGC was launched in 1987 and has since 2018, expanded rapidly through the acquisition of 50 garden centres, spread from Carmarthen to Ramsgate, Wimborne to East Durham.
In time for Easter, the refurbished centre and restaurant was reopened by the TV presenter, Nicki Chapman along with owners, Amy, Charles and Libby Stubbs. Amy Stubbs, Project and Development Manager at British Garden Centres, said: “We are delighted to become part of the Northampton community and were overwhelmed by the incredible turnout at the reopening of the centre. Our vision is to reignite this much-loved site, and we hope you’ll all love the new look and feel of our store.”
The BGC group has a team of 3000 colleagues working across the garden centres, restaurants, nurseries, distribution centres, Woodthorpe Leisure Park, and Woody’s Restaurant & Bar.
