AMES tools go as far back as 1774, when Captain John Ames began making America’s first shovels which reportedly “helped to build America through the centuries”. With nearly 250 years of brand heritage, knowledge and expertise, the brand is looking to bring that legacy to garden centres across the UK.
Since the Glee launch, around 200 nationwide stockist locations have been confirmed for the 2024 season. Ames are looking to “shake things up with strength, style and a 15 year guarantee”.
The range is extensive and consists of cultivation, digging, planting, hand and lawn tools – all supported by a new warehouse and logistics system to ensure optimum stock availability throughout the season.
Although dominant in the US, Canadian and Irish market, this is the first foray for AMES as a standalone brand within the UK market place. Distribution will initially be exclusively through garden centres – under the guiding hand of the brand’s new ambassador, TV gardener and author, David Domoney.
