RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival: Healer’s Hollow

Delving into the history of our connection with plants, the RHS Feature Garden at the upcoming RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, celebrates the tradition of plants for purpose and benefits for health and wellbeing.

Fennel, still flowering but seeds are forming

The RHS Healer’s Hollow garden, designed by Jude Yeo and Emily Grayshaw, is set in an idyllic British woodland, and feature plants that have roots in traditional herbal remedies – such as Foeniculum vulgare, Stachys byzantina, Artemisia absinthium and Crataegus monogyna. RHS Healer’s Hollow aims to explore a deeper need for plants, from the existence of complex plant ecosystems to the foundations of modern medicine.

The garden will showcase this close relationship with nature and demonstrate the necessity of plants for our living experience, to nurture, support and protect our health. In addition, to remind us of how to find the balance of capturing the healing essence of plants, while respecting their place and history in nature.

Yeo and Grayshaw have been working together for over 20 years, having gained their garden design diplomas in 2021. Working for both private and commercial clients, the design duo have won an RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival Best in Show and two RHS Gold medals.

Cobham Court Landscaping will be building the garden, which is to feature a Hannam & Taylor Shepherd Hut. The plants and trees are being sourced from Hardy’s Cottage Garden Plants, Form Plants, Van Arnhem Nursery, Jacksons Nurseries and Majestic Trees.

After the show, the garden will be relocated to Farncombe Community Garden near Godalming, a is a not-for-profit charity that aims to bring the local community together in a working garden.

The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival takes place from the 1st – 6th of July 2025.
