Organised by Hall-McCartney Ltd, the Historic Buildings, Parks and Gardens Event (HBPGE) is designed to provide comprehensive advice, solutions, guidance, support, information, and products and services for all aspects of the historic buildings, landscape conservation, and heritage sectors.

Britain’s historic houses are part of the country’s fabric and continue to be a magnet for tourists, making a vital contribution to our economy and communities. Cultural lynchpins for their local communities, historic houses bring opportunities such as access to great art, architecture, craftsmanship, nature and open space.

Heritage encompasses not only the grand estates that frequently come to mind but permeates the fabric of most cities, towns, and villages across the country. It encompasses a diverse range of assets, including listed buildings (Grade I, Grade II*, and Grade II buildings), scheduled monuments, protected wrecks, registered parks and gardens, battlefields, and world heritage sites. A study conducted by Historic England in 2024 revealed that the overall well-being value derived from people’s daily interactions with heritage is estimated to be £29 billion annually, resulting in an average individual benefit of £515.

Some 70 companies and organisations exhibit at the HBPGE, providing visitors the opportunity to discuss current and future projects with experts and specialist suppliers. Exhibitors range from the traditional, to cutting edge technology, you can meet with professionals from all aspects of the historic buildings, landscape and heritage conservation sectors. These include historic buildings exteriors and their contents, historic landscapes, parks and gardens, both private and commercial.

SPAB will be running a free Advice Surgery and specialist organisations such as the Victorian Society, the Gardens Trust, the William Morris Society, Professional Gardeners Guild, suppliers and professionals are on hand to help with all aspects of historic buildings, landscape and heritage conservation.

The event is open to owners, guardians, volunteers, professionals management staff and advisers involved with historic buildings (private, commercial, industrial, Grade I listed buildings, cathedrals, churches, manor houses, windmills, historic town centres), parks, gardens and historic landscapes.
