The new Chair, Neil Davies joined the Board of Trustees of the Arboricultural Association (AA) in 2022, in appreciation of the association’s work in supporing the arboricultural profession throughout Covid. After almost 30 years in the industry, Davies is keen to give back and support the next generations of professionals, while continuing to strive for increased recognition of arboriculture as a highly skilled profession.
Davies is passionate to promote of the arboricultural industry and helping raise its profile as pragmatic problem solvers, not problem makers. He is keen to share knowledge and inspire others. “I’m great with young people and truly passionate about sharing my experiences to help the next generations of our profession,” explained the new Chair.
The outgoing chair, Michelle Ryan, elected in August 2020, was the AA’s longest serving, youngest and first female Chair. Ryan has overseen many changes and strengthened numerous areas including the liaison between the board of trustees and staff, governance and improving its relationship to the staff and members. She remains on the Board of Trustees, serving as Vice Chair over the next year to assist Davies with the transition.
