One compostable arrangement at a time, the co-founder of The Farewell Flowers Directory Gill Hodgson, explains how they are on a mission to change the world of funeral flowers.
Gill Hodgson
Gill Hodgson is the co-founder of the Farewell Flowers Directory, Flowers from the Farm and Fieldhouse Flowers. She was awarded an MBE for Services to Floristry in the 2025 New Year Honours List and named Mentor of the Year at the Northern Power Women Awards. Based in Everingham in Yorkshire, Hodgson is deeply passionate about British, sustainably grown flowers and works to transform the UK floristry industry. She founded Flowers from the Farm, to champion artisan growers of British cut flowers, and in 2024, The Farewell Flowers Directory – to connect people to florists who offer fully compostable, sustainably grown funeral flowers.
