Ballymaloe Cookery School: Head Gardener

The Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland, set on a 100 acre biodiverse organic farm, gardens and greenhouses is recruiting for a Head Gardener.

Founded in 1983 by Darina Allen and her brother Rory O’Connell, the Ballymaloe Cookery School has grown to become a prestigious cookery school with a far-reaching network of students and alumni. The school is looking for an experienced, innovative and ambitious Head Gardener who will take the gardens and grounds (open to the public) to the next level and expand their educational programmes.

The candidate will join a farm and garden team with over 40 years experience of producing quality organic food year round. The role involves managing all horticultural aspects of the gardens and grounds, both crop production and amenity areas. Working with the Farm Manager and garden team, the Head Gardener will ensure the highest standards of maintenance in all relevant areas.
