Owned and managed in Guernsey, the Blue Diamond Garden Centre Group was founded in 1904 as a grower and exporter of locally-grown produce. Blue Diamond now employs approximately 4,700 people and manage 50 garden centres across the UK & Channel Islands. According to the company, the new acquisitions have pushed their turnover to over £400 million, a new milestone for a garden centre group in the UK.

Blue Diamond also looks to further growth, with an additional acquisition planned for the 10th of March, when the Aylesbury site (formerly known as World’s End) is set to join the Blue Diamond family.

Both Harlestone Heath and Huntingdon will undergo major refurbishment work, including a complete overhaul of their layouts and new shopfitting. Harlestone Heath is expected to reopen at the end of March, while Huntingdon will follow at the beginning of April. In terms of recruitment, Blue Diamond have indicated that the new centres will also have new opportunities for local job seekers – the details of which can be found on their website.

“Harlestone Heath and Huntingdon both offer great potential, and we’re pleased to bring our unique retail experience to these locations. With our vision for their transformation, we look forward to delivering a newly enhanced shopping experience that will resonate with our customers,” said Alan Roper, Managing Director of Blue Diamond.
