For gardens large or small, shady or sunny, for the experienced or novice gardener, ‘What Grows Together’ new book provides easy-to-follow planting recipes to create a vibrant garden.
The book contains some 60 planting combinations, for the spring, summer or autumn, plus advice on creating extended colour and interest into winter – for containers or herbaceous borders.
Jamie Butterworth is a passionate plantsman and horticulturist. One of the UK’s youngest nursery owners, he established Form Plants in Surrey in 2020. Aged 30, he has been in the gardening industry for more than 14 years. Butterworth trained at RHS Garden Wisley, has worked on more than 15 RHS Show gardens (winning four RHS Gold medals, including at RHS Chelsea Flower Show), and has been an RHS Ambassador for the past 6 years.
Born in Wakefield, West Yorkshire in 1994, Butterworth started working in plant nurseries. By the age of 16, he was a finalist in BBC3’s Young Gardener of the Year. He attended Askham Bryan College in York before going on to study at RHS Garden Wisley, Surrey, leaving in 2015 with a distinction in the Diploma in Practical Horticulture.
Butterworth and his team built and grew plants for 3 RHS gold-medal winning gardens, as well as a further gold medal-winning Main Avenue garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for Korean designer Jihae Hwang in 2023. This year, he worked with Monty Don on the RHS and Radio 2 Dog Garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
What Grows Together will be published (DK Books) on the 11th of September 2025.
