The multipurpose compost formula that has been at the “root of everything ‘ at Crocus, for their RHS Chelsea gardens and the 7,000+ plant species grown at the Surrey based nursery, is now available for their customers.
Suited to the needs of most plants, Crocus explain that their special 100% peat-free blend is rich in nutrients to nourish plants and soil, free draining to promote healthy roots and moisture retentive to reduce stress.
“We have been working closely with our compost supplier for the last three years to find the ideal blend of materials that works for the wide range of plants that we grow here at Crocus. It’s the same formula that we’ve used in our newly launched multipurpose compost mix. It’s ideally suited to most herbaceous perennials, allowing for good aeration, encouraging dense fibrous rooting which in turn gives our plants the best opportunity for absorbing the water and nutrients they need to grow into strong and healthy plants,” explained James Hunter, Crocus Head of Production & Nursery Operations.

Set at a price point from £12.99 for a 40L bag, Crocus All Purpose Compost pricing is comparable to SylvaGrow® and RocketGro branded composts.
