The first Scottish Gardens Tourism Conference, organised by Discover Scottish Gardens (DSG), aims to bring together the custodians of some of Scotland’s most important designed landscapes to discuss the role that gardens play in domestic and international tourism. According to VisitScotland, more than 2,400,000 visits are made annually to the country’s parks and gardens.
Open to all operating and supporting the garden tourism industry, the conference aims to provide the sector and related industries a chance to connect, network, and be updated on redevelopment and restoration projects as well as new insights on Scottish tourism. In addition to VisitScotland, who will be speaking at the conference about tourism and resilience, participating organisations include; Eden Project Dundee, the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), Scone Palace, Linn Botanic Gardens and Alitex. Event exhibitors include; the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), Hortis by Species 360, VisitScotland and Trybooking.
Representing more than 100 gardens across Scotland, Discover Scottish Gardens aims to put Scottish gardens, nurseries and related businesses on the tourist map and to showcase the nation’s horticulture and plant diversity.
The Scottish Gardens Tourism Conference will take place on Wednesday, the 19th of March at Cambo House in Fife.
