Starting on Monday the 20th of May, Chelsea in Bloom will blossom throughout Chelsea in London, with businesses showcasing innovative flower displays inspired this year by culinary favourites and memorable epicurean scenes from film, literature, history and art. The Chelsea in Bloom festival is organised by Cadogan in association with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS).
Coinciding with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, for one week the smart neighbourhood is transformed into gloriously creative, world-class floral art where the Chelsea’s boutiques, hotels and restaurants compete for the coveted competition awards. Judged by an expert panel, the winners will be announced on Tuesday the 21st of May. The public are also invited to get involved as they can vote (online) for the ‘People’s Champion’ award until midnight on Thursday the 23rd of May.
Large-scale installation highlights are expected by; Amie Bone on Sloane Street with their floral interpretation of Lady and the Tramp; Ricky Paul on the Kings road with their reimagined version of Winnie-the-Pooh; a Willy Wonka inspired exhibit by Maison de Fleurs at Duke of York Square; and an enormous floral version of the the Very Hungry Caterpillar by floral artist All For Love London on Sloane Square.
Visitors can find information about the festival via Chelsea in Bloom, or on the dedicated information point on Sloane Square which also provides rickshaw and walking tours.
