Attracting over 5,000 visitors from more than 80 countries, professionals increasingly look to the annual FlowerTrials for new plant varieties, market concepts and international collaboration. According to the organisation, pre-registrations for the 2025 are up by 30% on last year, underscoring the growing interest in the event.
Organised by FleuroSelect, the FlowerTrials are open to all ornamental horticulture and retail professionals from around the world. For the breeders, the FlowerTrials represent an opportunity to showcase the latest innovations at the ideal moment in the season. The exhibitors highlight innovations tailored to grower and consumer needs, such as improved heat and drought tolerance, more efficient cultivation habits or entire plant series that require less to no plant growth regulators. For the attending trade, the event offers the opportunity to discuss the new innovations directly with breeders and receive cultivation tips, can provide growers with valuable insights. For retailers, the trade event also offers insights into retail-ready concepts reflecting changing consumer preferences and current trends.
“If you want to obtain an overview of the latest innovations in pot and bedding plants in the most efficient way, FlowerTrials is a must-attend event. As all exhibiting locations are relatively close to each other, you are able to obtain a full picture of the assortment in just a few days,” said Ann Jennen, Secretary General Fleuroselect.
Marjolein Kuyucu-Lodder, Chairwoman of the FlowerTrials Committee, adds: “In addition to plants that brighten up the garden, the modern consumer is looking for sustainable varieties that are heat-resistant, drought-tolerant or attractive to pollinators. Growers are looking for plants that can be produced in a more energy-friendly way. During FlowerTrials, our exhibitors are presenting the latest plant solutions, providing growers with the necessary cultivation information while inspiring retailers to successfully bring across the story behind the plant to their customers.”
