For their impressive Malus exhibit at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Frank P Matthews has collaborated with a group of Herefordshire based businesses, including Edward Bulmer Paints.

Malus inspired, the plant-based paint manufacturer and B-Corp certified, Edward Bulmer has launched their new Pomona Palette, inspired by crabapples through the seasons – including two new colours; Butterball and Blossom. The palette consists of ten colours, each chosen to reflect the life of the apple tree – from the delicate blush of spring blossom to the rich greens of summer foliage and the russet tones of autumn fruit and bark.

The collaboration is supporting a tree planting campaign in local communities, to celebrate the trees, from blossom to harvest. For every tree purchased at the Frank P Matthews RHS Chelsea stand, one will be gifted back to the local community.

Mad about Malus exhibition

In addition, an exhibition is taking place at the Edward Bulmer showroom in Pimlico, which features artworks in paper, canvas, sculpture and the written word, showcasing the enduring beauty of this humble genus through the changing seasons. Eight artists are exhibiting, including: Romi Behrens, Flora Roberts, Anna Dixon-Smith, Natasha Hulse, Rollo Skinner, Josh Taylor, Imogen Skye Art and Susannah Taylor.

For every paint tin sold from the Pomona Palette, Edward Bulmer will making a donation to Herefordshire Growing Point, the charity that helps people into horticultural therapy and allowing them to harness the healing power of gardening for their mental and physical health. All the trees featured at the exhibition will be donated to Horatio’s Gardens, the charity supporting patients with spinal injury.
