GROW Careers Day North Event at Harewood House

The Chartered Institute of Horticulture announces first GROW Careers Horticultural Conference to be held in the North of England.

Harewood House

Following the success of the GROW events in Scotland, the day is intended to draw together passionate horticulturists and allied professions from across the region to network and inspire new entrants into the horticultural industry.

Set in the impressive gardens and grounds of Harewood House, Leeds on Friday 24th May, the event aims to
provide current horticulture students and early-career horticulturists as well as potential students and career-
changers the opportunity to hear inspirational speakers, attend practical workshops and demonstrations, tour
Harewood’s historic gardens and meet employers, industry bodies and trade partners.

Jason Daff, Chartered Institute of Horticulture (CIH) Secretary says ” Horticulture is an exciting and dynamic industry and we are excited to showcase the range of opportunities available. This is a great way draw on the wealth of horticultural knowledge we have in the region to give the next generation of growers, gardeners, horticultural scientists, garden designers, landscapers, arborists and turf specialists a huge boost in their career path.”

Chair of the Northern Branch of the Chartered Institute Clive Parker adds “I remember the colleagues who gave
me a steer when I started in the horticultural industry, so it is a huge honour to be able to forward the favour to
the people who will be continuing our work in the industry. We have a long and proud history of outstanding
horticulture in the North, and we can’t wait to hear from speakers including Matthew Wilson, Katie Rushworth,
and Katy Merrington”.

The CIH have conformed that the event is fully booked for in-person attendance (although do check as there may be cancellations) but it is open & free for anyone who wants to attend online. For further information and registration, we refer you to the CIH website.
