The charity, Herefordshire Growing Point provides horticultural therapy in Herefordshire, funded through donations and grants from charitable trusts and individuals.

With the aid of trained therapists, gardening is a powerful tool to improve quality of life for people with disabilities. Working in the fresh air, nurturing plants, enjoying the harvest and sharing the achievement together.

The charity currently offers weekly gardening sessions for about 200 clients – of all ages and abilities. Herefordshire Growing Point received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2013 in recognition of the quality of work and the contributions made by our volunteers.

This part-time role would suit someone with good horticultural and creative skills who enjoys working in a care home environment. The hourly paid tutors travel to care homes across the county and offer sessions of guided instruction to groups of residents. Tutors also provide sessions at the charity’s base in Credenhill.
