Coinciding with the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Belgravia in Bloom sees the London borough decorated with playful floral and plant installations, around the area’s shops, cafes and public places. Themed ‘Floral Fun and Games’ for 2024, the free event transforms Belgravia into a vibrant canvas of flowers, creating an immersive environment, celebrating nature in an urban setting. Belgravia florists, including Neill Strain Floral Couture, Moyses Stevens and Judith Blacklock Flower School, have created large-scale flower displays for the festival.
For 2024, the spinal injury charity Horatio’s Garden is the festival’s dedicated charity partner. Horatio’s Garden nurtures the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in vibrant garden sanctuaries in NHS spinal injury centres. For Belgravia in Bloom, the charity will be creating a vintage-themed display in Newson’s Yard on the Pimlico Road, featuring vintage games and bunting.
Horatio’s Garden is also hosting two talks in Newson’s Yard during the festival (Tuesday 21 May) where Ashley Edwards, a Gardeners’ Question Time panellist, will be answering your gardening questions.
Dr Olivia Chapple, Founder and Chair of Trustees at Horatio’s Garden says: “We are delighted to be this year’s charity partner of Belgravia in Bloom and join this fantastic community of vibrant flowers and creative expression. Following our Best in Show garden at RHS Chelsea Flower Show last year, it’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the importance of gardens and green spaces in physical and mental health and support our mission to have a thriving Horatio’s Garden in every spinal injury centre in the UK.”
Jane MacDiarmid at Grosvenor says: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Horatio’s Garden for this year’s Belgravia in Bloom. Their mission to create beautiful and accessible gardens for patients with spinal injuries is deeply inspiring. We are excited to bring delight and play to visitors with this year’s installations and displays, while raising awareness for this incredible charity.”
Belgravia in Bloom takes place from the 20th – 27th of May, 2024. Further details and map of the displays, can be found here.
