A beautiful, vibrant and crucially, fully accessible garden, Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville is located at the National Spinal Injuries Centre in Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

Designed by two-time RHS Chelsea gold medal winner, Joe Swift, Horatio’s Garden Stoke Mandeville is a private garden for people affected by spinal injury, so this is a rare opportunity to visit the restorative sanctuary.

The garden features secluded areas surrounded by nature, highly perennial and wildlife friendly planting for all-year round colour, a light and airy garden room, communal space for gatherings and seasonal events, raised beds filled with flowers and edibles, and a fully accessible glasshouse.

Head Gardener Amy Moffett, a Kew-trained horticulturalist, looks after the garden along with, part-time Garden Administrator, Arts Activities Assistant Anna Watkins, WFGA WRAGS trainee David Jones, and a volunteer team.

The Open Day will take place on Saturday, the 28th of September, from 2-5pm. Tickets can purchased online, or on the day at the garden gate. All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the National Garden Scheme, who are the single largest funder of Horatio’s Garden.
