Horatio’s Garden is a UK charity that nurtures wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries in the heart of NHS spinal injury centres. The first Horatio’s Garden opened in 2012 and the charity’s mission is to grow thriving communities and biodiverse gardens in all 11 UK spinal injury centres.
A cherished tradition for the charity, Horatio’s Gardens is organising three Christmas Carol Concerts, which are to take place in Wales, London and Northern Ireland. Early booking is advised as tickets are quickly sold out – which is the case for the Wales concert which has now already sold out.
All funds raised will help support those affected by spinal injury this Christmas and beyond.
Taking place on the 3rd of December, the charity’s inaugural Carol Concert in Wales promises an uplifting evening of Christmas celebrations at the historic Llandaff Cathedral in Llandaff, Cardiff. The evening will feature a reading by rugby legend Sir Gareth Edwards, alongside musical performances by Rebecca Evans CBE soprano and Cowbridge Male Voice Choir. Funds raised will help nurture the wellbeing of people spending time in Horatio’s Garden Wales at the Welsh Spinal Cord Injury and Neuro Rehabilitation Centre in University Hospital Llandough this Christmas and beyond.
Horatio’s Carol Concert in London will take place on the 5th of December in the enchanting St Mary Abbots Parish Church in Kensington, London. The concert will feature readings by special guests and celebrities including actor Dominic West, writer Robert Macfarlane, broadcaster Fi Glover, President of Horatio’s Garden The Countess of Radnor, Young Committee member and former patient Pia Gupta, and performer Fra Fee.
The enchanting evening of Christmas celebrations of the Horatio’s Garden Carol Concert Northern Ireland will be held at the magical St Malachy’s Church, Hillsborough, Co Down on Tuesday, the 17th of December. This is the charity’s second Christmas Carol Concert in Northern Ireland, organised to bring the community together to celebrate Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland and help support those affected by spinal injury over Christmas and beyond. The service will feature readings by special guests, including Andy Sturgeon, acclaimed designer of Horatio’s Garden Northern Ireland and beautiful music by the Ulster Consort.
