Horniman Museum & Gardens Summer Plant Fair

Taking place across the Horniman Museum’s gardens on Saturday 6th July (11am – 4pm), the Summer Plant Fair features a wide range of specialist plant nurseries from the Plant Fairs Roadshow (PFR) providing a wide spectrum of plants including cottage-garden favourites, shade-loving plants, alpines, trees and shrubs and succulents.

The nurseries that make up the PFR are all independent micro-nurseries who grow and nurture their specialist plants in the UK. At the Horniman Museum’s Summer Fair, shoppers can delve through a vast range of hot peppers nurtured by Clare‘s Chilies in Sussex, to conservatory plants by Fluer de Lys, rare and unusual plants from around the globe care of Edulis and ‘The No Name Nursery’.

The fair also features a series of expert talks, including RHS Chelsea Gold medallist-winning garden designer, Charlotte Harris; author and organic food grower Claire Ratinon; Barney Pau, the creative working at the intersection of food and art; and Nadeem Perera, wildlife TV presenter, author, activist and co-founder of Flock Together.

Paul Seaborne of Pelham Plants, coordinator of The Plant Fair’s Roadshow said: “Key to the success of the Plant Fairs Roadshow is the specialist expertise of the differing nurseries involved, that lends a sense of horticultural heritage to the events whether they’re at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show or at Horniman’s. We are indebted to the incredible venues that allow us to come and display our life’s work in this fantastic venue – it’s an honour to be invited to exhibit.”
