Horticulture Career Showcases: The Chelsea Sessions

Organised by Next Step Ahead, a series of events will showcase horticulture as a career opportunity, highlighting the diverse career paths available within our industry.

Shining a light the variety of career paths within horticulture, a series of events are being held during the RHS Chelsea Flower Show week for prospective new talent. Each workshop, will provide candidates with knowledge and practical advice, highlighting opportunities for career inspiration in horticulture.

Featuring over 24 speakers from all aspects of the horticulture industry, the workshops will feature all manner of possible job opportunities, including garden design, landscaping, specialist landscape skills, estates management, parks, retail, sports grounds, plant buying, growing, urban design, community engagement, contracting & building, planning, well-being & therapy, ecological designers, podcasters and sustainable practice.

The events are open to all looking for a career, which could be for those just starting out, those considering a change or those wanting to try something new – it’s all about taking the ‘next step’.

The Horticulture Careers Showcases are scheduled to run for four evenings (6-9pm) each featuring a different topic and will be held (upstairs) at Daylesford Organic (Pimlico Road, London SW1):

  • Garden Design: Tuesday, 20th of May
  • Contracting & Building: Wednesday, 21st of May
  • Landscapes & Parks: Thursday, 22nd of May
  • Marketing, Planning, Buying & Retail: Friday, 23rd of May
