How to Design A Garden aims to show the reader how to untap their garden’s potential and customise the design to suit the space: whether that is an extension of the living space for parties and al fresco dining or a calming oasis to relax in.
Photographed by Rachel Warne, the book is equipped with information regarding light, focal points, hardscaping, and planting, providing the skills to create a moodboard, design layout, choose paving, furniture, and plant combinations. Wilkinson guides readers to understand how the elements their gardens will work together, also providing her opinions on certain design dos and don’ts.
With her studio based in Oxshott Surrey, Polly Wilkinson is a garden designer working on design projects across the UK and abroad. Wilkinson has 3 RHS medals from Chelsea Flower Show (Silver) and Hampton Court Flower Shows, (Silver-Gilt and Silver) and two People’s choice awards from RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2022, and RHS Hampton Court Flower show 2019.
