The new five part BBC series entitled Monty Don’s British Gardens airs at 20:00 on BBC Two on the 10th of January 2025. Produced by AHA Productions, the series is hosted by the gardener and broadcaster Monty Don OBE, who will travel the length and breath of the country, from the rugged north west coast of Scotland to the north east of England.
For the new series, Don visits some of the most inhospitable places in the country and yet finds gardens that are flourishing. He travels to romantic castles, some of the private gardens of the King, and traverses gardens that challenge our idea of what a garden even is. The series explores; gardens in London – including one on a barge, restored gardens in the home counties, gardens known for their different and personal styles of planting, gardens for gnomes, well-tended allotments and even extravagant gardens that bankrupted their owners.
The programme aims to demonstrate the ingenuity, passion and determination of British people to garden and create gardens, no matter what the canvas.
See Monty Don’s British Gardens for further programme and scheduling details.
