Room to Improve is an Irish architectural renovation TV series broadcast on RTÉ One and UK’s Home channel. The premise of the programme is for Architect Dermot Bannon to adapt existing homes for families to better suit their needs.
Peter Donegan is a landscape architect based in Dublin, Ireland. His studio, set up in 2001 undertakes the design, consulting, advice and project management of private gardens, cityscapes and public landscapes. A regular speaker, Donegan has just returned from a series of guest lectures in Istanbul and at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.
On this episode of Room to Improve, the garden is one part of a complete house rebuild for the Julian Benson Cystic Fibrosis Foundation with the objective of turning the 150 year old Victorian house and garden into separate dwellings for families to live whilst their children receive treatment.
“The reality for any parent and their children away from home with so much on your mind is something that has been very much considered here and the hard work of so many others in mind, the least we can do is to hope to allow them to smile, if only but for a moment”, said Donegan.
The double episode featuring Donegan will appear on tv screens this December.
