Plant Belles: New ‘Leaf’ plant supports

Plant Belles are set to launch their new ‘Leaf’ plant support collection designed in collaboration with Matthew Pottage MHort (RHS) at the upcoming Borde Hill Garden Festival.

Plant Belles New Leaf plant supports

Founded by Jenny Maddock and Alex MacKenzie, Plant Belles produce all manner of wire plant supports & accessories. The new ‘Leaf’ shaped plant supports, which are currently supporting the National Collection of Ivy at RHS Wisley, were designed in collaboration with RHS Wisley’s curator, Matthew Pottage MHort (RHS).

According to the duo, “the collaboration has pushed us to design a completely new form of plant support, not like any other.”

Shaped like a leaf, the metal supports are produced as a single unit which can be assembled in the ground, or pot, to create a simple and flexible solution for supporting plants. As a modular system, the new supports cunningly allow for endless options of groups, providing support for individual plant support needs.

The new Leaf design comes with full copyright protection and are available in three height sizes; short (55cm), medium (65cm) and tall (88cm).

Earlier this year, Pottage said: “Very excited to tell you about a collaboration we’ve had with Plant Belles who have designed a wonderful new plant support which we’ve used for the Wisley National Collection of Hedera (ivy). It’s a flexible design so you can create different shapes and formations, and of course, assuming you don’t have an ivy collection, they are great supports for a myriad of other plants, or small climbers in pots.”

The Plant Belles Leaf collection will be launched at the new Borde Hill Garden festival which takes place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June 2024. At the festival, Plant Belles will be joined by over 40 curated stalls of artisans, growers and unique gardening and lifestyle brands.
