Plants & Planets at the Hortus Botanicus in Leiden

New exhibition at the Hortus Botanic in Leiden, the Netherlands will allow visitors to travel through time and space: from the Big Bang to the year 2125 and beyond.

The Hortus Botanicus Leiden is the oldest botanical garden in the Netherlands. Founded in 1590, the garden is located at the heart of the city of Leiden, encompassing 10 acres of special collections, carefully collated and acred for, over four centuries.

Opening on the 7th of February 2025, the new Plants & Planets exhibition will open at the Hortus Botanicus, to reveal what science, art and nature can tell you about the development of life on planet Earth. The exhibition will guide visitors to discover biology and astronomy: from pollen to stardust, from plants to planets…

The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive programme of activities with workshops, lectures, stargazing evenings and guided tours of the domes of the Old Observatory.
