The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) are looking for an enthusiastic horticulturist to provide teaching and facilitate learning for undergraduate & related horticulture programmes.

The RBGE is one of the world’s top four botanic gardens based on the quality, breadth and depth of our science, plant collections, public engagement, and education. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented horticulturist to join our dynamic education team to provide teaching and facilitate learning for our undergraduate and related horticulture programmes.

This role help develops future horticulturists and influence the sector’s development. You will support learners with teaching, guidance and feedback. In collaboration with academic partners, you will play an active role in developing undergraduate and related horticulture programmes at RBGE.

The RBGE are looking for applicants from diverse backgrounds who share a passion for horticulture and learning in line with the botanic garden’s mission. Applications from, horticulture professionals, recent graduates and applicants who are interested in new career opportunities will all be considered.

The candidate must have strong communication and digital skills, as will the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a small and dynamic team. Must be flexible in approach, with strong planning and time management skills and the ability to engage and inspire learners. An understanding of the higher and further education systems in Scotland and the UK would be beneficial, as would prior knowledge of botanic gardens.
