Refuge is the largest domestic abuse organisation in the UK. On any given day their services support thousands of women and their children, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial and logistical impacts of abuse and rebuild their lives.
Gardening is well known to have a positive impact on both physical and mental well-being. With this in mind, STIGA has reached out to several domestic abuse charities, offering them mowers and gardening tools for the individuals under their care.
Kaylee Linton, Service Manager at Refuge said: “Refuge is very grateful to STIGA for generously donating garden products for our accommodation services. It’s so important that survivors who are fleeing domestic abuse have a place to go that feels safe and homely. These products will enable those fleeing abuse to tend to their outdoor space in the dispersed refuge accommodation, which can be therapeutic in itself, giving them the best start on their journey to re-build their lives’ after abuse.”
STIGA donated four Collector 136e kit mowers and four HT 300e Kit hedge trimmers and four GT 300 Kit grass trimmers to the charity.
