The new Stihl leaf blowers are part of the AP System range of tools. Powered by two AP batteries, their 72-volt motors deliver blowing force comparable to petrol powered backpack blowers. The BRA 500 boasts a maximum blowing force of 32 Newtons, comparable to the BR 600 petrol backpack blower. Similarly, the BRA 600 offers a maximum blowing force of 35 Newtons, equalling the BR 700 petrol backpack blower.
The backpack’s weight is 14.5 kg with two AP 500 S batteries inserted. However, Stihl maintains that the design ensures optimal weight distribution. The batteries and motor are securely positioned against the operator’s back, resulting in a more comfortable experience during extended working periods. Additionally, the shoulder and weight padding provide comfort during carrying.
Noise reduction systems are built into the backpack leaf blowers, reducing high frequency noises due to the low fan RPM and noise insulation on the leaf blower.
An aluminium tube at the base of the backpack facilitates the transport of the leaf blower to and from the work vehicle. It also features an integrated electronic interface on the control handle, enabling the user to adjust the speed of the leaf blower between Low, Mid, High, and Boost modes. Additionally, the battery charge information is displayed, and the device offers the option to switch to cruise control, ensuring connectivity and providing basic diagnostic information.
The Stihl BRA 500 and BRA 600 backpack leaf blowers are now available from Stihl and Stihl dealers.
