Sarah Dyke MP

By means of the Ten-Minute Rule Peat Motion, Sarah Dyke, Liberal Democrat MP of Glastonbury and Somerton seeks to bring in a Bill to provide for the prohibition of the sale in England of horticultural peat by the end of 2025.

The ten minute rule allows a backbench MP to make their case for a new Bill in a speech lasting up to ten minutes. An opposing speech may also be made before the House decides whether or not the Bill should be introduced. If the MP is successful the Bill is taken to have had its first reading.
