Divided into the 12 months, a set of tables each month gives it the feel and weight of a traditional almanac, providing practical information that gives access to the outdoors and the seasons, perfect for expeditions, meteor-spotting nights and beach holidays.
The Almanac: A Seasonal Guide to 2025 allows one to reconnect with the seasons in Britain and Ireland every month and includes tide tables, sunrises and moon phases; wildlife and folklore; seasonal recipes and more. A guide to regularly revisit, all year long. The 2025 edition is the eighth in the series and has the theme ‘ancient astronomy’, including a megalith of the month and ancient constellation stories from around the world. The book is illustrated in bold woodcuts by artist Sarah Abrehart.
Leendertz’s reinvention of the traditional, rural almanac has become an annual must-have for readers keen to reconnect with the seasons, appreciate the outdoors, and discover ways to mark and celebrate each month.
Lia Leendertz is a garden writer, author, regular contributor to The Guardian and The Telegraph, and a long-time advocate of organic and community growing. She is the author of several books such as the Almanac series, My Cool Allotment and Twilight garden.
