From April to July, the gardens around Serge Hill, that is Tom and Sue Stuart-Smith’s Barn Garden, the Prairie and the Plant Library, will be open on every first and third Tuesday of the month. Subsequently, on the 6th, 20th of May, 3rd, 17th of June and the 1st July, the neighbouring Serge Hill garden belonging to Kate Stuart Smith, will also be open.

All the profits from the Plant Library and Barn Garden openings go to fund the work of Tom and Sue Stuart-Smith’s community interest company, the Serge Hill Project for Gardening, Creativity and Health. The not-for-profit initiative, principled on nature’s ability to transform health and wellbeing, and was set up to foster community inclusion through gardening and other forms of creativity. Events are organised throughout the year, for schools, people working in the voluntary sector, horticultural professionals and designers.

A large proportion of one-acre site is dedicated to the impressive Plant Library, which is a unique and extensive educational resource for anyone interested in plants and planting design, and holds more than 1500 different varieties of herbaceous plants.

Visits to Serge Hill as pre-booking only, and tickets are limited (50) to ensure a peaceful experience in the gardens.
