The Herefordshire Growing Point helps people living with physical or mental challenges, or ill health, to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of gardening. Established in 1991, the charity has of the first therapeutic gardens in England.
The demonstration garden was designed for those living with mental and physical challenges to gain the benefits of therapeutic horticulture. Fully accessible, the garden features a range of mixed plantings, to facilitate activities throughout the year to promote mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Funded through donations and grants from charitable trusts and individuals, the charity helps adults, young people and children across Herefordshire. In 2013, the Herefordshire Growing Point received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of the high quality work and the contributions made by the volunteers.
Along with the charity’s Honorary President, Tamsin Westhorpe, Thomas Pearson joins a dedicated team and volunteers. Pearson founded Tom’s Yard in 2020, trading in hand-made garden pottery from Crete, Tuscany and the UK
