Toby’s Garden Festival is a collaboration between the broadcaster Toby Buckland and Country Gardener magazine and attracts over 6000 visitors annually.
Since the first festival which was held in 2014, the festival organisers have worked to reduce their impact on the environment. Exhibitors and contributing companies are carefully vetted to ensure they work with nature and support their local economy. With the help of eco-auditors, Blue Marble, the organisers have been able to monitor the carbon emissions the festival produces, which they have offset by planting trees as part of a wildlife protection scheme.
The team have actively reduced travel when organising the festival by working from a virtual office, partnered with waste companies to recycle what they can and ensure no waste goes to landfill, and provided visitors with recycle points for the plastic pots they might have in their greenhouse at home, gifted wildflower seeds and showcase chemical-free garden products and techniques.
Toby’s Garden Fest takes place at Powderham Castle in Exeter on Friday the 3rd & 4th of May 2024.
