Located at Lodge Farm in Hampshire, Gaze Burvill‘s HQ is fortuitously nestled in the beautiful South Downs countryside. To raise awareness and funds for Woodland Heritage, the luxury furniture maker has organised another Tread for Trees & Timber for which they have designed a 10km and 5km route to either run or walk, taking in the abundant natural beauty in the local area, whilst raising much needed funds. The event is open to villagers of East Tisted, Newton Valence, Farringdon and Selborne and as well as friends, family, supporters and Woodland Heritage members.
Tread for Trees & Timber participation is free, though a (£20) donation is suggested by Gaze Burvill, whom are looking to achieve their fundraising target of £8000. Anyone keen to provide a donation can do so via the designated Just Giving page. The company will be offering refreshments for participants and importantly, match the first £4,000 raised.
All donations are in aid of Woodland Heritage to work towards its vision of “A UK more self-sufficient in timber grown in healthy, well-managed woodlands that benefit people and wildlife.”
Woodland Heritage are helping to protect British woodlands by creating a thriving UK wood culture that benefits the environment, people and the economy. They are doing this by championing the good use of home-grown timber from sustainable, productive woodlands for the benefit of present and future generations. Through a combination of demonstration sites, research, education, membership and outreach, they are building on the wisdom and skills of the past to weather the challenges of tomorrow.
