Released in 2024, the British animated comedy film, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, was produced by Aardman Animations and the BBC in association with Netflix. The sixth film featuring the beloved, Wallace & Gromit characters, has been nominated in the Animated Feature categories at the Academy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, the Annie Awards and won the inaugural BAFTA Award for Best Children’s & Family Film, in addition to being nominated for Outstanding British Film at the same ceremony.
Our very own, gardener and broadcaster, Alan Titchmarsh makes a small ‘appearance’ in the film by means of an amusing Wallace & Gromit witticism. According to Film Stories, Titchmarsh gave the film’s directors, Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, permission to do so.
In just a split second, the film manages to reference both British gardening magazines, as well as Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy’s vintage sci-fi magazine ‘Galaxy’, to show a “July issue” of “Gardens of the Galaxy” magazine, featuring none other than “Alan Titchmartian”.
There is no higher accolade…
