Taking place in Dublin, Ireland, Bord Bia Bloom is Ireland’s largest gardening festival. The event celebrates horticulture, culinary delights, and sustainable living.
To champion the next generation of garden designers and horticulture professionals, Bloom launched Cultivating Talent in 2023 – which has since been sponsored by Westland Horticulture. The programme provides financial support and one-to-one mentoring to emerging designers.
This year’s winner of the category is Dr Sarah Cotterill, founder and lead designer at Wild Atlantic Gardens, as well as Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering at University College Dublin. Cotterill specialises in sustainable water management, and her garden design ‘Into The Forest’ is a testament to this, and is a tribute to the unique oceanic woodlands of the west of Ireland. Designed as a sanctuary of tranquillity, the garden highlights the restorative power of nature and reminds visitors of the importance of preserving these unique ecosystems.
Bord Bia Bloom takes place in Phoenix Park, Dublin, from the 29th of May until the 2nd of June.
