Established in 1995, the association was formed to help consumers make an informed choice. A specialist group of the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), the APL represents landscapers who have met the required standard of professionalism. APL members are registered with the government endorsed, TrustMark scheme.
Hosted by the APL General Manager Phil Tremayne, with guest speaker Frances Tophill, the 2024 ceremony took place on the 15th of March, at the Brewery in London. The judges for 2024 were Richard Barnard from Kings Oak Landscapes (Chief judge), Bob Sweet – Horticultural director at River Street Events, Rupert Keys from TASK Academy, Rod Winrow from Garden House Design, and Phil Tremayne – APL General Manager.
Ellicar took home the top award for their Wildlife and water garden in Nottinghamshire. Their task was to create a bright, colourful, naturalistic garden, reminiscent of their client’s Kenyan childhood, so she could step outside into nature, support wildlife, enjoy wild swimming, relax and dine outdoors with family and friends.
Phil Tremayne, APL General Manager said: “Massive congratulations to Ellicar on this fantastic garden. What a super project and well deserved to be crowned the 2024 Supreme Winner. However, congratulations should go to all the finalists, the standard is so high now and to win any medal at these awards is a fantastic achievement. Well done all and hopefully see you in 2025.”
