Winners of the Society of Garden Designers Awards 2024

Celebrating the best in garden design, the Society of Garden Designers (SGD) has announced their 2024 award winners.

The SGD Awards 2024 celebrate creativity, passion and dedication to garden design, rewarding designs that are not only beautiful, but provide important environmental benefits and enhance the quality of life for the people using them.

The winners for 2024:

  • The SGD Garden of the Year Award Winner: Andy Sturgeon for the Battersea Power Station Roof Gardens.
  • Judges’ Award, Medium Residential Garden Award and the Design for the Environment Award Winner: Stefano Marinaz for the New Beginnings project at Church Barn.
  • SGD Lifetime Achievement Award Winner: James Hitchmough
  • People’s Choice Award Winner: Adam Vetere MSGD for the Treetop Garden.
  • Large Residential Garden Award Winner: Robert Myers for Park House in Harston.
  • Garden Jewel Award Winner: George Cullis for the Chelsea Courtyard Garden.
  • Big Ideas, Small Budget Award Winner: Harry Holding for the Earls Court Oasis.
  • Planting Award: Winner: Nic Howard for the Windmill Bank project.
  • UK Commercial or Community Landscape Winner: Matt Keightley for the RHS Wisley, The Wellbeing Garden
  • International Commercial or Community Landscape & Garden Winner: Lulu Urquart and Adam Hunt for Masseria Pistola.
  • Fresh Designer Winner: Emily Crowley-Wroe for the Modern Cottage Garden.
  • Designer & Landscape Contractor Award Matt Nichol for the Living the Good Life project.
  • Hardscape Design Winner: Andy Sturgeon for Hobhouse Court.
  • Sustainable Product Award Winner: PlantGrow Mulch

  • Domestic Garden Design Winner: Jake Sutcliffe
  • Commercial Garden Design Winner: Julia Hill
