Throughout the symposium, attendees can join Head Gardener, Millie Souter for demonstrations and tours of Tom Stuart-Smith’s Barn Garden and the Plant Library. The Plant Library is Serge Hill Project’s impressive living catalogue of 1500 perennials, bulbs and low shrubs – a unique and extensive educational resource for anyone interested in plants and planting design.
The Symposium will take place on 3rd-4th of October, in the Apple House which forms the heart of The Plant Library at the Serge Hill Project in Hertfordshire. On point for the symposium, the Apple House, designed by architect Ben Stuart-Smith, was built almost exclusively from natural materials above ground level, including Hempcrete walls, split oak cladding and unfired clay floor.
