Landscape and garden studio, Joe Perkins Design are looking to recruit a Senior Landscape Designer/Architect to join their team.

Based in Hove in Sussex, the Joe Perkins Design, landscape architecture and garden design practice caters for both private as well as commercial clientele – with a strong focus on sustainable and biodiverse designs. The company has experience in residential, public and historic properties, often in sensitive or protected settings.

The candidate will be joining a small, experienced team to deliver quality residential and commercial projects. A key role for the growing business, you will ensure that the studio delivers on client projects and manage the client/contractor relationships. You will also be assisting in the mentoring our graduate landscape designers.

Project management experience is essential, as is the ability to foresee and respond to issues as they occur. You should be able to work on all parts of the design process from concept to masterplan, technical design and project delivery, working successfully on your own and as a part of the team. The company offers ongoing CPD training and development.

The successful candidate will have a Diploma/Degree in Landscape Architecture or similar with 5 years minimum relevant experience. CMLI is desirable but not essential. You will have the experience and ability to take on and run projects independently. You have excellent communication skills as the role will involve dealing directly with clients, contractors, suppliers and other members of the design and construction teams. Proficient use of Vectorworks is essential and you will have a high level of design ability from freehand sketching through to construction detailing. Excellent plant and materials knowledge is vital.
